Infiltration of mononuclear cells also occurs in the days after unaccustomed exercise. Release of secondary degradation products may increase osmotic pressures in the vicinity of the damage, and this mechanism may then account for the elevated intramuscular fluid pressures and muscle swelling that may occur the days after exercise completion.

The effect of phytochemical compounds on indicators of oxidative stress, inflammation and skeletal muscle damage caused by physical activity
Physical activities are associated with increased production of reactive oxygen species. The production of reactive oxygen species is dependent of the intensity, duration and type of activity. Although the physiological amounts of reactive oxygen species are necessary to regulate cell reactions, their excessive production can cause numerous damages to the structure and function of cells and wea...
متن کاملInfluence of glutamine supplementation on muscle damage and oxidative stress indices following 14km running
Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate effects of 7 day glutamine supplementation on exercise-induced oxidative stress and muscle damage. Methods: Nineteen healthy, nonsmoking, young men were recruited to participate in this study. Participants were randomized in a double-blind placebo-controlled fashion into 2 groups: Glutamine (G group) (n=9) and placebo (P group) (n=10). Subj...
متن کاملThe Effect of Aerobic Training and Tribulus Terrestris Extract on Muscle Atrophy Indices and Oxidant-Pro-Oxidant Balance in Extensor Digitorum Longus Muscles of Type 2 Diabetic Desert Rats
Background & Aims: Performing normal daily activities requires sufficient muscle size and strength, and atrophy has a negative effect on the overall quality of life; So that the decrease in skeletal muscle mass leads to a decrease in human performance, long-term health and low quality of life. Diabetes is associated with the development of secondary complications in various organs, especially s...

Introduction: The intensity of the strength training at the start for preventing muscle damage, inflammation and intrinsic antioxidant is not well defined. Intrestingly, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of maximal and sub-maximal resistance exercise on muscle damage, inflammation and intrinsic antioxidant in non-athlete men. Materials and Methods: Nineteen young untrained me...
متن کاملP-44: Effects of Nano Zinc Oxide Supplementation on Testicular Oxidative Stress in Adult Male Rats Exposed to Endurance Exercise
Background: Physical activity has a range of effects on male reproductive function depending upon the intensity and duration of the activity. Materials and Methods: In order to investigate the protective effects of nano zinc oxide on endurance exercise induced testicular oxidative stress, 30 adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into the following groups: control group (n=10); exercised ...
